Formula One also
referred to officially as the FIA Formula One World Championship, is the
highest class of single seater auto racing sanctioned by the FIA. The seasons
of F1 consist of a series of races known as Grand Prix. The races are held
throughout the world on licensed F1 circuits. The Formula One series originated
with the European Grand Prix Motor Racing of the 1920s and 1930s. Grand Prix
racing began in 1906 and became the popular internationally in the second half
of the twentieth century. The results of each race are evaluated using a points
system to determine two annual World Champions, one for drivers and other is
for constructors. The first driver’s champion was Italian Giuseppe Farina and
the first construction champion was Alfa Romeo.

2. The inaugural FIA
Formula One World Championship in 1950 was won by Italian Giuseppe Farina
defeating his Argentine teammate Juan Manuel Fangio. But eventually Juan Manuel
Fangio won five championships thereafter in 1951, 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1957.
Fangio was world record holder for most numbers of driver’s champion for 45
years until German driver Michael Schumacher beat him by winning his sixth
title in 2003.

(1970). He was killed in practice for the Italian Grand Prix.

first driver to die in 1952 during a test drive and AyrtonSenna was the last
driver to die in F1 in 1994. After Senna died it is the longest period in
Formula One history without a driver fatality.
